Thank you for weighing in on the childrens' hardbacks. We are ready to move forward on this project and have taken all the comments and questions into consideration when making our decision. Although some of you preferred Option 2, the majority of authors and artists preferred Option 1, which does not grant a discount, but does ensure that both authors and artists are paid a royalty. It also comes with a lower SRP (Suggested Retail Price).
We will be printing dust jackets rather than using a raised stamp, but there will not be a price printed on the dust jackets. This will allow authors and artists to set their own SRPs.
We encourage authors and artists to "add value" to the book by signing copies. Additionally, authors or artists who wish to sell their books with a CD can download the files from the website, burn and insert them into the books or offer them to potential buyers as a no-cost extra. This helps customers feel as though they're getting something extra, which makes hand selling easier on you.
If you've been considering ordering hardbacks, but haven't done so, please make sure your order is in by tomorrow at midnight (Friday). I will be placing the order on Monday morning.
